Sponsorium Forum – Stockholm
Brands from 11 different industry sectors came together this Monday for the latest SPONSORIUM Forum, this time in Stockholm. Attendees listened to and discussed the theme: The bridging of commercial sponsorship and social objectives.
In Europe, sponsorship and community projects typically sit within different departments, reporting lines and budgets. However, it is a clear trend that sponsorship and community is becoming one and the same.
So what is sponsorship and should we really get hung up on trying to classify it? Sponsorship can be commercial, it can be community, cause related, or a combination of the three. Does the traditional brand sponsorship manager’s role require a broader understanding? The answer seems to be yes, and one they are keen to embrace.
